Our Story


Band-ITS was initially co-founded in 2014 when Sally first used the original version of the Band-ITS Ultimate Kit and immediately recognised its potential.

Short for 'Band-Independent Training System', the unique design was then tailored to add another level of efficiency, practicality and comfort.  Here, finally, was an affordable piece of training gear that could be used in gyms, Pilates studios, hospitals and physio clinics alike. Having trialled the kit with her patients, dancers and group classes, Sally realised just how effective the product really was. Its versatility meant that it was equally successful with elderly patients, office workers and elite athletes alike. The kit is used in all of her classes and private corrective exercise sessions, and as it doesn't slip, it can be used for dynamic movements like running, lunging and kicking; ideal for her dancing clients.

One of the main uses that Sally found for the Band-ITS Kit in clinic was to assist with hip-rehab, core stability training and injury prevention for dancers. Dancers could easily take it as a nifty piece of portable fitness equipment for training in the studio, on tour, or at home.

This brought about the inspiration for Strength4Dance, an expansion of the business in 2018 that incorporated Sally’s experience as an ex-professional dancer and as a Physiotherapist for Dancers.

Strength4Dance encapsulates Sally’s desire to provide dancers with comprehensive education on injury prevention through health, fitness and understanding their bodies. Having suffered from a knee reconstruction, Sally was ultimately forced into an early retirement from her own dance career. So, she set out on a mission to provide other dancers with the knowledge and the strength they need to prevent such an event and enjoy a lifelong career in dance.

The first product was the Strength4Dance YouTube channel which provides free, bitesize workouts, theory and technical lessons for dancers of all genres and abilities. For dance teachers, Sally created the Band-ITS Barre and Band-ITS Core training programmes, which are comprehensive pre-programmed conditioning classes to implement within the studio, using the Band-ITS product. 

We offer an alternative to traditional gym-based training or Pilates. Band-ITS products provide all of the same benefits of these different styles of training but in an environment of your choosing and at a fraction of the cost and so accessible to all. Our products are ideal for the introvert, traveler, time-poor professional or mobile trainer.

Strength4Dance delivers training advice from Sally, a physio and trainer of over 20 years, and Ros, a Pilates and strength trainer. We offer ongoing support and educational services to ensure you won’t be left to guess how to use your product, and to assist you to use Band-ITS in the safest manner possible.
